Warmux is a Free Open Source Turn-Based Artillery Game and pretty much a Worms Clone
Original Release: 24 December 2002
Version: 11.04 (30 April 2011)
License: GNU GPL
Developer: Warmux Dev
This is free open source software (FOSS) game in the genre of “turn-based artillery games” like Scorched Earth or Worms.
The project was started in December 2002 by Lawrence Azzoug Moy as Wormux, and was renamed in November 2010.
Each player controls the team of his choice (penguin, gnu, firefox, Wilber) and must destroy his opponent using casual weapons.
Although a minimum of strategy is required to win, this is pre-eminently a “convivial mass murder” game where, turn by turn, each member of each team attempts to do maximum damage to the opponents.
The game is playable against computer and/or in-network.
Minimum System Requirements:
Processor: 500 MHz processor
Memory: 256 MB of RAM
Graphics: 16 bit video cards
Hard Drive: 65 MB of Free Space
